I'm a native of Co.Carlow, Ireland, now living in Boston USA. Once I understood the obsession with adding cinnamon to perfectly good apple pie it was an easy transition!.

My endless curiosity started as a toddler, disassembling most things I could lay my hands on. My Dad (a career engineer) claims it was many years before I was able to reverse the trend and reassemble the parts. Many alarm clocks, toys, and kitchen utilities suffered during this time. These were early lessons in form and function, keeping only what is necessary and understanding how critical components should be interdependent.

Creating the right elements that combine to form a logo, website or brochure is quite similar. The difference being that it is essential to understand the context, audience and core message. The best brands have learned to understand their audience from the outside in. Which is a lot tougher than it sounds.
